Directing: Preparation, Analysis, Collaboration with Jonathan Berry
Directing a play relies on a series of conversations and collaborations where the cultivation of a clear directorial point of view is key. This class is for directors to learn different methods of preparation and to practice the skills of collaboration with playwrights, designers and actors. Each participant will choose a play to prepare for the six-week workshop. During weekly sessions, we will read important directing texts, and then practice those techniques in active collaboration with other artists.
This class is open to new and experienced directors alike. Class will be held in the rehearsal room at 131 Main Street with a Zoom option available for folx joining from afar.
