Story-Drama Workshops
RESIDENCY FOR 3RD-6TH GRADE This residency confronts students with the question– “How do you speak out about Bullying?” The residency focuses attention on the role of the bystander during a bullying encounter. We will use role-play and improvisation to inspire students to tell their own stories and negotiate how to speak up when it counts.
The residency will culminate in a short original play written by the students. Skills we will focus on in this residency:
- Expressing feelings without hurting feelings
- Respectful problem solving
- Peer Empowerment
This residency requires a minimum of 20 teaching hours and can be set up as a week-long intensive or in several individual sessions.

Shakespeare in the Schools
RESIDENCY FOR 4TH-12TH GRADE Designed to introduce Shakespeare’s world to students with a hands-on workshop. The focus is to take the mystery out of Shakespearean English and to let imaginations soar with theatre games, costumes and props. Students will use voice and movement to explore deeper meanings from any of our four choices in Shakespeare’s canon: Romeo and Juliet, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Macbeth, or Julius Caesar.
80 minute workshop We’ll turn your students into actors and directors as they discover how to perform scenes from one of Shakespeare’s plays. Our professional training methods encourage cooperation and participation by everyone– both students and teachers!
One Day Workshop Three 80 minute sessions.
Choose three different plays and explore three different scenes-with three different classes or the same class. You’ll be amazed at what your students learn and accomplish in just one day. Students will be inspired by how much more confident they feel!
One Week Residency Tailor a workshop to your school!
Mix and match scenes from any of our four plays or concentrate on one or two– and bring kids together from different grade levels and classes. Our teaching artist will work closely with you and your students to create a multi-disciplinary educational event– with an optional performance showcase at the end of the week.
All workshop sessions are limited to 30 students!
